Even though I graduated from UC Davis in March, I took to the stage on Saturday for my commencement ceremony. I was hesitant about walking at first (commencement ceremonies are so long and boring), but decided that it would be my last ode to UC Davis, where I’ve spent the past 4 years of my life.
My time in Davis has been marked with significant events— making and losing friends, transitioning in and out of romantic relationships, developing my career path, and of course, starting this blog. So this past weekend, to mark the end of an era, David and I made sure to revisit all of the traditions we’ve created in Davis. We took photos at my favorite spot atop the Silo parking structure (where I’ve spent many afternoons taking outfit photos with just a tripod), ate at our favorite Thai restaurants, visited the flea and farmer’s markets, grabbed drinks at our usual live music venue, and satisfied my cravings at my favorite pearl milk tea joint.
The photo of David and I above represents not only our 4 years of college together, but our one year of dating, as our anniversary was yesterday. Even though we’ve since left Davis and have relocated back to the Bay where we both have jobs, Davis will always be my favorite home away from home.
