I like to joke that I have Tom Ford taste on a Topshop budget — basically I like to wear and look like I wear expensive things, but don’t actually like spending the money to do so. Luckily, over the years I’ve learned to navigate this in a way that’s not too harmful on my bank account, relying on a really discerning eye and a few trust brands. One of those brands? Charles & Keith.
I first came across the brand on Instagram where, after seeing a photo of one item, proceeded to click over to their page and save tens of photos of shoes and bags (coincidentally the bag I’m wearing above was one of them), all filed under “cool Instagram brands to lust after.” Usually when I do this, it’s the likes of expensive brands like Orseund Iris or Jacquemus. But little did I know that Charles & Keith should really have been filed under “cool Instagram brands I can actually afford.” I mean, would you have guessed that the grand total for my bag and shoes is $98? Yeah, me neither. Definitely recommend checking them out if you like expensive-looking accessories without the price tag!
