Between my birthday, David’s birthday, Memorial Day, and the promise of summer right around the corner, these few weeks from late April to June add up to my favorite stretch of year. For obvious reasons, this season is going to look a lot different from previous ones, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to summer the hell out of it! (Yes, I love this season so much, I use it as a verb.) It’s all about finding the little things — joy triggers, as coined by Arianna Huffington — that help create the feeling of summer when we can’t fully experience it: sipping an indulgent iced latte on a scorching hot day, getting lost in a good beach read, sleeping with the windows open, watching a movie set in the Italian countryside (Call Me By Your Name, anyone?).
