I wrote about outfit sandwiching last week, and while I didn’t match my bag to my shoes this time around, there are other subtle ways you can tie your outfit together. The open back element of the dress here is the centerpiece of the outfit, so to speak, and I found ways to give small nods back to that criss-cross detail throughout the look (and even with the backdrop!), with the the checkered claw clip and the lattice from the cane bag. Giving your outfit a “theme,” no matter how much of a stretch, can be a small and fun way to help make it feel intentional and cohesive.
